Drill Setup
- Set up two or three courses for a relay race by setting up 5 to 10 sticks, flags, or cones about 2-5 yards apart.
- Split the team into even groups in line with each course.
- Each team will need 1 ball.
Drill Instructions
- On the coaches command, each team will send the first player to dribble in and out of the sticks.
- Then the player reaches the end, they must return to the front of the line by dribbling in and out of the sticks on the way back.
- When the player reaches the front of the line, the next player in line will start.
- Have each player go through the course 3 times.
- The team that finishes first wins.
Drill Coaching Points
- Dribble with speed while weaving in-and-out of the cones.
- Keep the ball close.
- Keep the head up and always looking forward only glancing down at the ball every once in a while.
