Short Passing Accuracy

This soccer passing drill is to improve accuracy when passing at close distances.

The objective of this soccer passing drill is to improve short passing accuracy when passing on the ground.

Setup

1. Split the team into groups of two.
2. One ball per pair.
3. Using training sticks or flags, create a gate between two players.
4. Align the players 5 to 10 yards from the gate depending on the distance desired according to skillset and age.

Instructions

1. While focusing on accuracy, have the players pass on the ground through the gate to their partner.
2. Set a timmer for 1 minute and have each pair keep track of how many successful passes they performed during this time. To make this passing drill more competive, make a game out of it and compare scores with the other groups.
3. Alter this drill to focus on one-touch or two-touch passes.
